The Slide

He climbed up the ladder, one, two, three
The ground fell lower,  three, two, one
The sky came closer, one, two, three.

Up went the kid, four, five, six
Down went the ground, six, five, four
Up was the Future, bright and bold
Down was the Past, dull and dead.

The kid sat at the top
And the slide took him down
In one smooth rush,
On a roly, jolly ride.
The wind hit his face,
The ground zoomed up -

And thud! He was back where all it began.

  3. That how we play the game of life, we just move around the circle and come back where we began it.

  4. I have been gone for quite a while and now I have come here to read you..I am a friend of Sandy's, she spoke highly of you so I am here.
This poem took me to a time long past, to a young age of carefree fun.. It made me smile...I remember how important 'one, two, three's ' were...I enjoyed reading this and wanted to thank you for visiting my site a while back..
