Floatsam

 Floating downstream
I turn my head to watch
A wreath of flowers by my side -

On whom had it lain last?

  4. Two floatsams, you and the ubiquitous wreath of flowers!
Like the remains of a ship wreck !

  6. You, the adorned, said the wreath,
    And I, the adornment,
    Never together in life
    Now together.

I turned my head in silence
looked up at the sheen of sunlight
filtering through the leaves of trees
    and sighed -
I wish I had never plucked the flowers...
